The Congolese civil society was mobilized on Wednesday, April 24, during a workshop on the issue of domestic violence organized in Kinshasa by the NGO "Solidarité féminine pour la paix et le développement intégral (Sofepadi).

"The main goal of this workshop was to mobilize the Congolese civil society around the issue of domestic violence and to unite voices to urge the government to take concrete and lasting measures to address it," emphasized the workshop facilitator, Me Josepha Pumbulu.

She previously explained: "As part of the campaign aimed at securing the commitment of the Congolese government to the overall promotion of women and girls against all forms of domestic violence, we organized this workshop to present the advocacy strategy to be pursued against these types of violence."

Speaking about the advocacy strategy on the alliances to be formed in the fight against domestic violence, she mentioned five steps, namely identifying potential targets, determining the actions by target and by priority while considering categories of strategies, developing the advocacy action plan based on the proposed model, planning the monitoring and evaluation mechanism by answering the following questions for each activity by target, and distributing work groups.
