According to the CTCPM, the export of artisanal diamonds reached 6,671,325.77 carats valued at 64.2 million USD in the same period, while the industrial export of the said material was evaluated at 8,305,796.60 carats worth 86.5 million USD.
Compared to 2022, the export of diamonds abroad in 2023 increased by nearly 5%, amounting to 150.7 million USD versus 145 million 992,914 USD, informed the source.
During the year 2022, the Democratic Republic of the Congo had exported 11 million 683,439 carats of diamonds valued at an estimated 145 million 992,914 USD.
It should be noted that Belgium and the United Arab Emirates represent 96% of the consumers of diamonds mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, following India, Israel, the USA, and Canada.
