The provincial headquarters of the political party Movement for the Liberation of Congo (MLC), Kasaï-Oriental federation, located on Inga Avenue in the commune of Dibindi, Mbuji-Mayi, was ransacked on Tuesday, November 28, and some goods were taken. The provincial executive secretary of this political party, a member of the Sacred Union, Christian Tshiamala, suspects a candidate in the elections of being the mastermind behind these acts of "provocation".

"We saw the caravan of Tobie Nkongolo Kayumbi, in front of the provincial headquarters of our party. He and his associates headed towards the main gate of the headquarters, claiming that the party members refused to let his banner be displayed on the large billboard in front of the party's headquarters. To our great surprise, he said he did not want this story: that story is the MLC headquarters, and his associates committed the heinous, barbaric acts," explains Christian Tshiamala.

According to him, the actors of this destruction took printers, chairs, the party's insignia, and the banners of various candidates.

"We have two messages to convey. The first is to call for calm among all MLC activists. The second message is that we will not remain indifferent if Tobie Kayumbi does not repair the damaged MLC headquarters," adds Christian Tshiamala.

Candidate Tobie Kayumbi, contacted by Radio Okapi, did not wish to respond to these accusations.

However, at the provincial police headquarters of the Congolese National Police, it is said that the conflicting parties were questioned during the disturbances.

A supporter of the candidate cited as the mastermind was even arrested at the scene of the troubles for investigation purposes, claim the authorities of the PNC-Kasaï-Oriental.
