The Congolese Press Agency (ACP) reports that the Congolese diaspora living in France was informed on Thursday by President Félix Tshisekedi, at the end of his working visit to France, of the expansion of the population identification operation to include Congolese nationals abroad, during a meeting on Wednesday in Paris.

“At the country level, we have started the population identification operation, so you too, Congolese diaspora, get ready to be also identified and to receive your identity cards,” declared Félix Tshisekedi.

"Fatshi pressures Paris to change discourse on the war in the East," reports Le Phare. Indeed, the first lesson from the Congolese President’s visit to France is that the discourse of the French authorities, both at the executive and legislative levels, has radically changed regarding the war in the East.

Whereas last year, during his first official visit to Kinshasa, Emmanuel Macron appeared very reserved on the issue of the Rwandan aggression against the DRC in its eastern part, this time he pleasantly surprised the Congolese by strongly condemning and forcefully demanding the withdrawal of all aggression troops, namely the Rwandan army as well as the M23 terrorists.

In a similar vein, Le Potentiel notes that "The DRC obtains the support of France." Indeed, in the conflict that opposes it to Rwanda, the DRC can now count on the strategic support of France.

Emmanuel Macron endorsed it during a press conference held jointly with his counterpart from the DRC, Félix Tshisekedi.

In an article published in its inside pages, La Prospérité reports that in a statement regarding the letter of the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation addressed to the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Matete, the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO), which is closely following this situation, calls for calm from all parties.

According to this statement, the case is being handled responsibly with the competent authorities, in respect of the legal texts of the country, including the Framework Agreement between the DRC and the Holy See, which guarantees a regime of loyal and sincere collaboration between the Catholic Church and the State.
