During a conference-debate held last Saturday, March 23, in Kinshasa, Leonie Kandolo called for the education of women in environmental management.

"If the participation of women in the planning and execution of environmental policies continues to be low, sustainable development cannot be achieved. We must recognize that the real dynamics for ecological change and the reduction of our carbon footprint lie in the daily actions and the education we provide to our children," said Mrs. Kandolo.

Furthermore, this gender expert called on women to take full responsibility and to manage household waste properly, that is, to separate plastic waste from biodegradable waste to prevent pollution.
