The Secretary General at the Health Ministry, Dr. Sylvain Yuma Ramazani has decided to reinstate Dr. Jean-Paul Divengi in his role as the director of the Kinshasa General Hospital of Reference (formerly Mama Yemo).

He had been suspended following the death of a nurse and her baby.

A statement from the SG at the Health Ministry addressed to the concerned party confirms: "The provisional suspension measure that was imposed on you has been lifted, and you are hereby invited to resume service at the general hospital of reference (formerly Mama Yemo) in your capacity as director."

Dr. Divengi faced suspension along with his colleague Roger Kongo, the medical director of Ngaliema Clinic, criticized for failing in their responsibilities in the care of a pregnant woman, Mrs. Tshibidi, a nurse by profession who died a few weeks ago during childbirth, and her baby. At the same time, the Health Secretariat has decided to suspend the Akram Limete hospital center.

Mrs. Tshibidi worked at the Akram center in Bongolo after having long worked in the same medical facility in Limete.
