The Civil Society Organization for Peace (OSP) has issued through a statement made on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, an SOS for the opening up of the city of Tshikapa to facilitate the development of the Kasai province.

The call was made by Gilbert Ngoy, the coordinator of this organization, to the new governor of Kasai to connect the city of Tshikapa with other regions of Kasai through the construction of road infrastructures.

These will ensure the availability of food supplies in the city of Tshikapa and elsewhere in the province.

Among the recommendations made are notably the provision of basic infrastructure, the rehabilitation of the Kiangaji road to boost the development of Kasai, the connection of production centers to consumption centers to ensure the availability of food supplies in the city of Tshikapa and elsewhere in the province.

He also reminded that the Kasai Provincial Assembly is a tenant, while the province has lands and a building whose work is at the finishing stage and only awaits the governor's attention for the allocation of the new building for the benefit of the elected officials.
