This activity is part of the integrated REDD program of Haut-Uele (Piredd Hu) and according to the communication service of Piredd Hu, the equipment handover ceremony took place at the governorate of Haut-Uele province in the presence of the province governor, Christophe Baseane Nangaa, the vice-president of the Provincial Assembly, and several other officials, as well as the program manager of PIREDD HU, Joonwoo Park.

According to the governor of this province, this project valued at 9 million USD aims at both improving the governance of natural resources, forests, and land, and the living conditions of local communities, including indigenous peoples, women, and particularly youth.

This project is designed to cover three of the six territories of the province. The governor, Christophe Baseane Nangaa, thanked the UNDP and Koïca for this gesture that marks the beginning of the partnership with Haut-Uele province, a young province after restructuring.

The manager of Piredd-Hu, Joonwoo Park wished that these tools become part of Congo's heritage. He made a call for everyone's involvement in the fight against deforestation and climate change. It should be noted that it was in December 2021 that the UNDP signed a financing agreement with the Korean International Cooperation Agency for the implementation of the integrated REDD+ Program in Haut-Uele province (PIREDD HU). The duration of this program is 6 years.
