"The rise of a woman as head of government, a first in the history of the DRC," declared Prince Murhula, country manager of JDH/Rdc.

For him, it represents a very significant step forward in strengthening women's leadership.

This nomination marks a moment of pride for all Congolese women and demonstrates the sustained efforts by JDH for the promotion of gender equality and women's empowerment.

For this organization, it is the culmination of advocacy efforts carried out since 2019 with the support of several other civil society organizations to promote Congolese women in the country's institutions.

Since 2019, as part of its Canada World project, Voices of Women and Girls, JDH/JRH, in partnership with civil society, has been conducting a broad advocacy campaign for the promotion of the rights of women and girls and their advancement to decision-making positions. Today, we celebrate this major accomplishment, the result of our hard work, our advocacy, and that of the entire Congolese civil society for the advancement of female leadership in the DRC.

JDH also applauds the commitment of the President of the Republic towards gender promotion and offers its heartfelt congratulations to the new Prime Minister. The NGO is also committed to continuing its fight for women's access to positions of responsibility at all levels of society.
