During the reception on Monday, February 12, in the evening, of the national football team, the Leopards, after their participation in the CAN 2023 in Côte d'Ivoire, President of the Republic Felix Tshisekedi observed: "No one expected the DRC to reach this stage of the competition. I am convinced that you are going to work wonders."

According to the Presidency, which reported this information on its account X this Tuesday, February 13, Felix Tshisekedi also highlighted: "You are a young team that hasn’t had much time to prepare, but what talent have you shown?"

Furthermore, he continues, the Head of State praised the Leopards’ gesture against the Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire, thus denouncing the genocide in the east of the DRC, which the international community remains silent about.

"Even being far from the country, you have remained in solidarity with your compatriots. The Congolese will never forget it," emphasized Felix Tshisekedi.

For the Minister of Sports and Leisure, François Kabulo Mwana Kabulo, "The DRC is resurrected. We are happy to be in the semifinals of African football. We are on a good path at the moment, and we will work to stay in this positive dynamic."

After the welcome in the morning at N'djili International Airport and the procession through the Martyrs' Stadium, the DRC Leopards shared a dinner in the evening with the President of the Republic.
