The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, promised, during a special briefing with journalists on Thursday, February 22, at the Mama Angebi studio of RTNC, to honor the Congolese footballer and player of FC Rayon Sport in Rwanda, Héritier Luvumbu Nzinga, for his heroic gesture in Kigali, denouncing the aggression of the DRC by Rwanda.

"First of all, for our compatriot Luvumbu, I was supposed to meet him before leaving for Addis Ababa, unfortunately, it couldn't happen, I followed almost live when he arrived. The Minister of Sports called me and I had a conversation with him. I congratulated him and promised to honor him on behalf of the Republic. Now, it's simply a matter of scheduling."

Félix Tshisekedi also emphasized:

"I also called someone I know even if I shouldn't say it - the president of AS Vclub, my friend and brother Amadou Diaby - I asked him explicitly, Mr. President, I don't want to hear anything if I have to pay, and I will pay, there is no problem, but this boy is a courageous soldier of the Republic, he must join Vclub, I don't know if your squad is complete or not, you take him and I don't want to know anything. So he told me, by the way, Mr. President, I announce to you that he did indeed belong to Vclub at a certain time, I decided to take him." So, guaranteed the head of state, in terms of work, rest assured that he already has a secure job and then I will see him myself because I really want to congratulate him in person and especially to give him a reward on behalf of the Republic."

On Sunday, February 12, 2024, at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, this forward, who scored 10 goals including 4 direct free kicks in 9 matches in the current season, placed his hand over his mouth and his finger on his temple to say, "They are killing us, and you say nothing," during the match between his club and FC Police (2-1) to denounce the aggression of Rwanda against the DRC.

And since then, he had been pursued by the security services of this country. It is thanks to the Embassy of the DRC in Kigali that he was able to be exfiltrated to return to the land of his ancestors.
