The Provincial Assembly of Équateur invalidated three deputies from the APA/MLC group during its plenary on Monday, April 1, 2024, for accusations of corruption and insubordination to their political party’s orders, announced the rapporteur of the provisional office of this deliberative body.

These deputies are Clovis Elongama Elambo, Jean-Pierre Bopanga Yete, and Pierre Banzena Bakotomba.

According to Jean Paul Elekola, he responded to the request of the prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Mbandaka, who had been approached by the MLC's complaint demanding the invalidation of these three provincial deputies.

All are made available to justice in the corruption case which would implicate certain senatorial candidates as well as candidates for governors and deputy governors, according to sources close to the MLC.

Moreover, during the same plenary, the Provincial Assembly of Équateur co-opted provincial deputies, two customary chiefs from the "Save Équateur" dynamics.

High tension characterized Monday's plenary due to the presence of the population inside the auditorium. There was a spectacle of stone-throwing and altercations between this heated population and the police elements.
