In his inaugural address, Félix Tshisekedi notably condemned the behavior of some Congolese who ally with the enemy to shed the blood of their own brothers.

"Indeed, despite your vigilance, the sacrifice, and bravery of our valiant security and defense forces, the threats remain resilient. And for many, they are fuelled by the betrayal of certain Congolese who, without scruple, without the slightest human and patriotic consideration, ally with the enemy to spill the blood of their own Congolese brothers and sisters," Félix Tshisekedi lambasted.

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo also highlighted efforts made in securing the populations and defending the country's territorial integrity, which he believes is undermined by the dark intentions of certain neighboring states, external or international actors, with the "cowardly" complicity of some Congolese.

Since last December, the former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Corneille Nangaa, has allied with the M23 rebellion supported by Rwanda. A rebellion that occupies significant swathes of Congolese territory, notably Masisi, Rutshuru and part of Nyiragongo, in the North Kivu province. Corneille Nangaa was also joined by another young Congolese, Adam Chalwe Munkutu.
