Experts will consider the approaches to implement in order to "channel this effort to supply energy to the Congolese populations" so that the country can become energy independent.

This conference highlights several essential themes for the energy sector in the DRC, including: new energy capacities in the country, regulation of the energy sector, energy development in Africa, and energy purchase contracts.

The efforts for access to energy for the population, the economy, and the State are still weak for the DRC despite the country having among the largest reserves of both renewable and non-renewable resources and considering the energy transition.

Its initiator lamented the fact that efforts to provide energy access to the population, the economy, and the State are still inadequate for the country, despite it being situated alongside some of the largest reserves, both in renewable and non-renewable resources, as well as in relation to the energy transition.

It is appropriate to note that for more than forty years, less than 10 megawatts per year have been added. This is insignificant for a country the size of the DRC, which has urgent needs.

Experts will consider the approaches to implement in order to "channel this effort to supply energy to the Congolese populations" so that the country can become energy independent.

This conference takes place from May 9 to 11, 2024.
