The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC), General Christian Tshiwewe, during a visit to Haut-Katanga, called on the members of the 2nd "Eagle" battalion to coexist with the troops of the Southern African Community (SAMI-RDC) to fight against the M23.
He emphasized: "I insist a lot on cohabitation; when you are going to conduct operations together, you must coexist well. Within the SAMI-RDC, there are South Africans, Tanzanians, and Malawians. It should not happen that as soon as you arrive on site, you do something else, firing bullets carelessly."
"Behave," he stressed, "as you behave here with complete discipline. When you're told to stay put, you stay put," before adding: "The reason why, tomorrow or the day after, the movement must already begin, to start working together with the SADC, so be ready now."
