This event stems from President Tshisekedi's vision to create more than 6.4 million jobs by 2028, particularly by accelerating the promotion of youth entrepreneurship," declared the outgoing Minister of Employment, Mrs. Claudine Ndusi.

Taking the floor, the Head of State revisited the significance of the day's event: "The particular interest that I give to this employment issue justifies my presence here by itself. I am determined to turn my commitment to create more jobs into a tangible reality during this five-year term."

For his part, Fanon Beya, the General Director of ONEM, praised the foresight of the President of the Republic for having "made employment the prime one of his six five-year objectives. He noted that "placing employment among the development priorities in the DRC is a first in the country's history."

During his inauguration on January 20, 2024, at the Martyrs' Stadium in Kinshasa, President Tshisekedi stated that one of the goals of his new mandate was "to create more jobs by accelerating the promotion of entrepreneurship, especially among young people."

ONEM is a regulatory body for the employment market in the DRC. Its mission includes registering job seekers, issuing job seeker cards, approving work contracts, scouting for job opportunities, and collecting, processing, and disseminating employment market statistics in the DRC.
