After spending three days in Paris, the Head of State arrived in Brussels on Thursday, and considering the worsening situation prevailing in the camp of displaced people in Mugunga, he decided to cancel his official trip to Hungary in order to return to the country to closely follow the current situation in the eastern part of the national territory.

Addressing the Congolese living in Belgium, the Head of State reiterated his "determination" to defend the country's territorial integrity. "I guarantee that we will win this fight no matter what it costs," President Tshisekedi promised to the Congolese community in Belgium.

In recalling his agenda in Europe, the President of the Republic had planned to discuss the still unstable security situation in the eastern part of the country, asking his French counterpart for support to put an end to the activism of M23 backed by Paul Kagame's Rwanda.

In his agenda in Europe, Mr. Tshisekedi had on the agenda particularly the unstable security situation in the eastern DRC. He asked Emmanuel Macron for France's support in order to put an end to the activism of M23 supported by Rwanda. The French Head of State clearly sent a message to the Rwandan President.

For France, "Rwanda must stop its support for M23 and withdraw its troops from the East of the DRC. I will remind him of this in the coming days," Emmanuel Macron declared during a joint press conference with his Congolese counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi, at the Elysée Palace, adding "Regarding Rwanda and M23, nothing will be excluded… we will continue with individual and targeted sanctions."
