"Today we celebrate International Women's Rights Day. I address you with a heavy conscience due to the severity and brutality of the violence inflicted upon numerous women and girls on the battlefields in the east of our country. Indeed, the current Rwandan aggression against our country is not only unjust but also characterized by a total disregard for human rights, particularly with respect to the rights of women and girls, and highlights one of the most tragic horrors of this war," declared Denise Nyakeru through her account X.

She continued:

"Now that everyone is aware of the cruelty of the Rwandan army's actions, which are hidden behind the M23's auxiliaries and terrorists, who can still rightfully claim to share the values we celebrate this March 8th? I sincerely ask myself this question, to which I invite us to deep reflection. For my part, I consider that we cannot underestimate the impact of armed conflicts on the daily lives of women and girls, whose cries express all the pain, the anxiety, the sorrow, and the dehumanization they face."

Furthermore, the wife of the Congolese Head of State clarifies that the theme chosen this year, "Investing in favor of women: accelerating the pace", requires strong initiatives to put an end to poverty, make women's voices heard more, ensure their economic empowerment in the promotion of sustainable development.
