The president of the National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI), Denis Kadima Kazadi, confirmed on Tuesday the upcoming elections for senators, governors, and deputy governors across the entire national territory.
"Monday, April 29, we will have elections; the elections of senators at the same time as the elections of governors. This needs to be emphasized because at times there are hesitations; but I confirm here that we are going to organize these elections," declared Denis Kadima during his visit to Mbuji-Mayi in Kasaï-Oriental.
Taking advantage of this working visit to this part of the country, the head of the CENI discussed with the stakeholders of the electoral process and insisted on the need to ensure peaceful and transparent elections, without compromise.
He also denounced corruption and intimidation in the electoral process, calling on stakeholders and candidates to abstain from them and to work towards fair and transparent elections, for a good image of the country.
