Without denying the discomfort she felt at the beginning of last weekend, the office of the Cultural Promotion Fund states that "the health condition" of Barbara Kanam "is relatively stable". Earlier, several uncertified sources within the CPF had claimed that Barbara Kanam had been quickly evacuated to a local hospital and admitted to the emergency room. These reports spread rapidly on social media, raising significant concern among her many admirers. In a statement released on Sunday, March 10, the communication unit of the CPF finally confirmed the hospitalization of the singer, while emphasizing that her health condition was relatively stable. Journalist Jordache Diala, who has been running a column for years and is known to be close to the singer, provided clarification by stating that Barbara Kanam had been able to return home, but she remained under medical observation.

"You should not always follow social media. The Diva is at home. I talked to her relatives. The discomfort has passed. You know she has a busy schedule for her current functions, it can also be a fatigue related to activities," Jordache Diala told Digital Congo.

Appointed last July 8 by presidential decree, Barbara Kanam had taken office at the Cultural Promotion Fund on July 27, 2023, at the end of the handover ceremony with the former director general, Jules Saghasa, in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Barbara Kanam had expressed her wish to embody a leadership that should "channel the intelligences, energies, initiatives, and efforts of everyone", in order to manage this institution "efficiently". This, with the goal of uplifting Congolese culture in its diversity.
