"Everyone sees the massacres in the east of Congo. But everyone remains silent," lamented the now member of Real Betis.

The center-forward, currently part of the Leopards squad at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), did not fail to remind the Congolese people of one of their responsibilities, that of denouncing the macabre acts that have been taking place in the eastern part of the country for over two decades.

"Put the same energy that you use to talk about the CAN into highlighting what's happening in our homeland, there are no small gestures," he added.

Other Congolese internationals have echoed this sentiment. This is the case for the Leopards captain, Chancel Mbemba.

"A very big thought for all the victims of the atrocities in Goma and their families. I pray with all my heart that my country finds its peace,” can be read on the account X of the one nicknamed "Demi-god."

Théo Bongonda, on his part, mentioned his "support for the families of the victims," before adding: "They are monsters and this must STOP IMMEDIATELY, I sincerely hope that something will be put in place against these 'people' without heart or values, I will ALWAYS stand with Congo. We LOVE you."

The DRC is currently facing the occupation of part of its territory and the threat to the city of Goma, the capital of North Kivu province, by the M23 rebels, backed by Rwanda.
