The Moroccan coach, Walid Regragui, has been handed a 4-match suspension at the helm of the Moroccan staff, with 2 of those being a suspended sentence over the span of one year. Walid Regragui is also ordered to pay a fine of 5,000 US dollars.
In its rationale, the disciplinary panel states that it relied on Article 123 of the CAF disciplinary code.
The Moroccan coach is penalized following the altercation that occurred between him and the captain of the DRC, Chancel Mbemba, at the final whistle of the match on Sunday, January 21, 2024, between the DRC and Morocco, for the 2nd day of Group F of the CAN.
