He has, however, deplored the continuous escalation of violence in all its forms in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Moussa Faki also reminded that such violence goes against the spirit and the letter of the Luanda agreements of the past 21st of March, calling for a complete and immediate ceasefire in North Kivu.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed his support for the Luanda and Nairobi processes in the search for ways and means to achieve enduring peace in the East of the DRC as well as in the entire Great Lakes region, according to this high-ranking official of the African Union (AU).
For the record, the bombing of three displaced persons' sites in the neighbourhoods of Lac-vert, Lushagala, and Mugunga in Goma, North Kivu, took place last Friday, May 3rd.
