In a message shared on his account X (like Twitter), the Congolese striker spoke out against the world's indifference to what is happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where M23 rebels backed by Rwandan soldiers are terrorizing the population. 

The situation worsened last week when these rebels expanded their zone of influence, suffocating the city of Goma, the capital of North Kivu. "Peace for the DRC. The world sees what is happening in the east of Congo but nothing changes, everyone remains silent. With my Foundation, I modestly try to be useful on the ground, but it will never be enough," wrote Cédric Bakambu. He added below this message:
