Several voters, including illiterates from the province of Lomami, did not vote on Wednesday, December 20, as they could not find their names on the list.

Voting operations started late in the evening.

As a result, voters rushed to cast their votes and no one had time to assist the illiterate in finding their names on the lists as night fell.

These voters, who can neither read nor write, decided to turn back after several hours of waiting at the voting sites.

No voting yet at Lusambo

Voting has still not started in Lusambo (Sankuru). Sources on site indicate that the voting equipment arrived around 5 pm on Wednesday and has not yet been deployed in the voting centers.

The Provincial Executive Secretary of the CENI has invited the stakeholders of Lusambo to a consultation this Thursday through local media before deploying the electronic voting devices.
