The Collective of Local Participatory Governance Committees (CLJP), one of the branches of the Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of Bukavu, denounces in a memorandum that they filed on Thursday, April 25, at the Provincial Executive Secretariat of the CENI in Bukavu, ongoing attempts at fraud "currently being downloaded" within the headquarters of senatorial, gubernatorial, and vice-gubernatorial candidates.
The spokesperson for the collective, Faustin Batumike, warns any voter or provincial deputy who engages in corruption. "There are several gubernatorial, vice-gubernatorial, and senatorial candidates who are already in Bukavu with bags of money to bribe the provincial deputies in order to get elected," he accuses.
He added: "To ensure getting the vote of the deputies who have received the money, these candidates have given them watches fitted with cameras, to see the ballot of each voter, before it is placed in the ballot box."
