Journalist en danger (JED) firmly condemns the aggression of the correspondent of Radio International France to Kinshasa, capital of DR Congo, by the police force and consequently requires explanations of the provincial Police chief of the congolese national police force of Kinshasa on this intolerable act.

Patient vLigodi, journalist-correspondent of Radio International France in Kinshasa and director of Actualité.cd, media on line, was maltreated and copiously attacked, 15 September 2021, by elements of the police force and pull up in the clothes before embarking him of force into their vehicle.

The journalist covered a manifestation of the opposition banned by the governor of the town of Kinshasa. This popular demonstration was organized in Kinshasa and in the provinces by the leaders of the platform of opposition, LAMUKA, to be opposed to a probable slip power of Felix Tshisekedi and to the politization of the CENI (Independent National Electoral Commission).

Journalist en danger (JED) denounces with vehemence this police violence and asks for the governmental authorities and the police force to sanction the authors of this act publicly inflicted to the journalist Patient Ligodi.

For JED, nothing justifies the use of violence against this correspondent of RFI who however did not commit any offence by covering this demonstration and the acting of the forces of safety had nothing to do with the journalist work.
