The Head of State Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo addressed a message of congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their election as President and Vice-president of the USA at the end of the poll of last Tuesday 3 November.
Felix Tshiesekedi, on his tweeter account, mentioned that the DRC is ready to continue its privileged partnership for peace and prosperity with the USA, and to develop the trade as well as the investments.
Joe Biden the democratic candidate with 290 Great Electors was elected by beating the outgoing President Donald Trump (214).
The USA and the DRC are bound by several cooperation agreements in particular in security matter. Since his advent at the head of the country, president Tshisekedi accomplished two voyages to the USA, first took place in April 2019 three months after his nomination.
On the occasion of this visit, he expressed a great interest to forge a military co-operation and as regards stronger defense with the United States. The American brigadier general Steven J of Milliano of the military Command of the United States for Africa (AFRICOM) stayed in DRC from 18 to June 19, following the visit of President Felix Tshisekedi to Pentagon in Washington, D.C, in April 2019.
In Kinshasa, he had discussed with the congolese authorities in particular President Felix Tshisekedi, the Minister responsible of Defense of the time, Michel Bongongo, the head of staff of the FARDC, General Célestin Mbala and other military authorities.
This privileged partnership for peace and the prosperity consist with the reinforcement of the bonds between the two nations by stressing the improvement of the management, the promotion of peace and safety, the fight against corruption, the promotion of the human rights and the creation of conditions supporting of more increased American investments and the prosperity of the congolese people.
