The National park of Virunga welcomes two new gorilla babies. This park located in the East of the democratic Republic of Congo recorded two twins gorillas. "A team of eco-guards discovered an inception of the binoculars within the Nyakamwe family in the zone of Bukima, Mikemo sector, in the national park of Virunga", declared Olivier Mukisya, the responsible of communication of the National park of Virunga (PNVi).

Gato - the name of the mother of these two twin babies - had already eight other births, ensures the park in an official statement. And all these kids are in life. With the two binoculars, it carries its births to 10 individuals. This natural reserve registered with the world inheritance of UNESCO, knew 12 births of the gorilla babies in various families only since the beginning of 2020.

According to the team of localization of these species in the forest, the female mother of the binoculars was localized last Monday "Monday September 21, 2020, towards 11h30, we carried out a descent on the ground together with my colleague and two Hugo, after 1 hour and half, we met the team of localization which was waiting for us in the forest, from there, followed together the family to identify the female which would have given birth. Just a few minutes, the female was located, it is Gato which gave birth, the twins", the eco-guard Katutu Jacques testified, responsible of monitoring in the southern sector of the National park of Virunga.

The gorillas of Virunga are always threatened and are "in danger because the security situation is overall unforeseeable. For this, it is necessary to add the poaching ", Olivier Mukisya revealed.
