Will the congolese voters directly vote their the senators and the governors at the time of the next elections? In any case, it is what propose the thirteen personalities at the end of their two months consultations on the electoral reform in the country.

After having submitted early product of their proposal to the president of the Republic, these personalities handed on Thursday September 17, at the Office of the National Assembly, the private bill amending the law of 25 June 2011 concerning the organization of the presidential, legislative, provincial, urban, municipal and local elections.

In their document, they wish that the country give up the mode of indirect poll for the election of the senators and the governors of province. The latter are currently voted by the provincial deputies.

Moreover, this private bill wants to also put a term at the system of proportional at the time of legislative for a simple majority poll. And also to reject, "the system of sponsorship, prohibition to carry as substitute, under penalty of cancellation of the election, the blood relations or collateral, ascending or downward, until the second degree included".

Remain to know if this private bill will pass within a national Parliament dominated by the Common Front for Congo (FCC) which had been registered against the step, with the departure, "extra institutional" of these thirteen members of Parliament.

In addition, it should be noted that a member of the FCC, Alphonse Ngoyi Kasanji, had proposed the passage of the direct poll to the indirect poll for the presidential one, so, according to him, to minimize the cost of the electoral operations.
