The honorary president of the Senate, Leon Kengo wa Dondo was allowed into the Kabila-Lumumba national heroes order, to the rank of "Big Cord of the national Orders", it was saturday, July 11, 2020 in the Congress room of the Palais du Peuple .

This title was decreed to him for his merits and services rendered to the congolese nation by the presidential order n°020/068, signed by the Head of State, Felix Tshisekedi on July 9, 2020.

"Thanks to your merits and many honest services made to the congolese nation, you are allowed into the national order of Kabila Lumumba national heroes ", said in substance the President of the Republic.

Decoration was preceded by varnishing by the work "Leon Kengo, the passion of the State", an autobiographical work which recalls the advance of a man who germinated through the events and which devoted all its life to the service of the State.

Another strong moment of the ceremony was the handing-over by the chancellor of the national orders, the admiral Damas Kabulo of the badges to Leon Kengo in the name of the President of the Republic.

The Prime Minister, the president of the National Assembly and several personalities of the political, legal, religious and cultural world attended this event.

Born in Libenge, in Equateur, May 22, 1935, Leon Kengo wa Dondo added up 62 years of political life.
