The Head of the State Felix Antoine Tshisekedi brought up Joseph Kasa-Vubu to the rank of national hero. It is what he announced during his address to the congolese nation the day before the celebration of 60th anniversary of the accession to independence.
"There is 60 years our fathers founders among whom Joseph Kasa-Vubu and Patrice Emery Lumumba who managed to concretize the deep inspiration of the congolese people with the emancipation, we keep in memory the beautiful history of our two heroes with different temper but also determined by the cause of independence. In this respect it appears right 60 years to me to reconcile two later approach and to bring u Joseph Kasa-Vubu, forgotten for a long time, to the row of deserved national hero ", Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi declared.
