DRC did not conceal with the celebration of the international day of parliamentarism, celebrated each June 30 of the year. On this occasion, the president of the National Assembly, Jeanine Mabundaa praised the fundamental role which the Parliament plays as for State of right.

"Parliamentary work is crucial for the good health of our young democracy and it must be achieved under conditions of optimal safety for the elected officials in the strict respect of our constitution", Jeanine Mabunda specified.

And to continue, in this world day of parliamentarism celebrated on June 30 of the year, I pay tribute to any honourable national deputies and senators like our provincial elected colleagues, legitimate representatives of the congolese people in diversity for their patriotic devotion to achieve their prerogatives in these times of Covid-19 pandemia.

For recall, the international day of parliamentarism was celebrated for the first time in June 30, 2018.

It allows to clarify the role of the Parliaments throughout the world, but also to give a progress report on the challenges with which those are confronted.

According to Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, this day is the occasion to honour the essential role with the Parliaments, which give to the people a voice and an authority to shape the policies.
