The measure taken by the governor of the town of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila, in connection with the confining of the township of Gombe came into effect this Monday April 6 as planned by the congolese authorities.
Early in the morning, the number one of the provincial police force of the town of Kinshasa, General Sylvanno Kasongo, positioned his elements in the principal axes of entry of Gombe. To believe him, however certain witnesses questioned by digitalcongo.net, in spite of the detention of macaroons delivered by the Town hall, many of Kinshasa people could not have access to the township of Gombe. The elements of the police force committed for control were shown zealous and inflexible. However, certain professional categories like the journalists, the agents of the telecommunication companies, the vigils, the nurses, pharmacists, to only quote this category are authorized to have access while showing the macaroon delivered by the authorities of the city.
The confining of Gombe township belongs to the strategies taken by the technical Secretariat of the response against Covid-19. It should allow to list all the contacts, to investigate and detect certain contacts already presenting the symptoms of the disease with coronavirus. In addition to the follow-up of the contacts, the confining will allow to disinfect the public places and buildings in the township of Gombe.
The update of epidemiologic situation gives a report of 161 confirmed cases including 7 new cases, 18 deaths, 5 cured and 54 patients in good evolution.
