The world of African and European football was upset by the death, Tuesday April 1, of Pape Diouf, former president of Olympic of Marseilles. Several personalities of football paid a deserved tribute to that who entered the world of the sport as journalist in a Marseilles tabloid before becoming agent of the players and then the first black African to lead a European club of the first division.

In DRC, the president of the congolese Federation of football association (FECOFA), Constant Omari, greeted a "model of the determination for the younger generation of the Africans so that they understand that to want it is to be able".

"Franco -Senegalese contributed to the emergence of several young footballers of origin such as Joseph-Antoine Belle, Basile Boli, Didier Drogba, Habib Beye, André Ayew…", pointed out Constant Omari, in addition first vice-president of the African Confederation of football (CAF).

But, the relations between the two men were sometimes tended. Testifies in this electric exchange which they had in December 2018 on the plateau de Talents d’ Afrique de Canal+….
 They had spread out, in a high tone, their divergences over the reforms initiated by the CAF in particular that to make play the Africa Cup of the Nations from 16 to 24 teams.

In spite of this shock in front of the cameras, Constant Omari reassures: "Between Africans, there is what one says on the plate of television but that does not remove of anything the regard and the respect which one owes to elder that he was. This muscular exchange was finished and left in the studio. After the studio, we found the best feeling of africanity and the cordial relations ".

Pape Diouf died in Dakar, due to the pandemia of coronavirus. He is the first case tested positive in this country and also the first case of indexed death.
