The Belgian Prime Minister, Sophie Wilmes, starts as of this Wednesday, her first official visit in democratic Republic of Congo. The main aim of her visit relates to the official reopening of the general consulate of Belgium in Lubumbashi.

A At the head of a strong delegation, the Belgian Prime Minister, Sophie Wilmes, start her first three days political and diplomatic mission this Wednesday February 5, 2020 in democratic Republic of Congo.

In Kinshasa, Sophie Wilmès will have discussions in particular with President Felix Tshisekedi. The two personalities had already met in January in Switzerland with the world Economic Forum of Davos without having tackled questions which annoy.

Sophie Wilmès who left Belgium this Wednesday at dawn towards the DRC, is accompanied by the Development co-operation and Ministers in charge of Finance, Alexander De Croo (Open Vld) and of the Interior, Safety and the foreign Trade, Pieter De Crem (CD&V).

Thursday, the delegation will meet in Kinshasa, the congolese government including the economic actors. The Belgian delegation will be received by the president of the DRC, Felix Tshisekedi. Friday, she will go to Lubumbashi for the official reopening of the general Consulate of Belgium which is the main aim of her visit.

The plane transporting the Belgian delegation will also bring two tons of humanitarian aid intended for the congolese population.
