Deceased on last January 23 in Genk, in Belgium, Mgr Maurice Plevoets will be buried in Kinshasa. A communiqué of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa confirmed it. His funeral is fixed from 6 to February 7, 2020 in the parish Notre Dame de la Sagesse (NODASA), at the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), in the municipality of Lemba.

It adds that the program of the funeral plans on February 5, 2020, the arrival of the body at the international airport of N’djili, follow-up of his conservation to the mortuary of the Private clinic of Kinshasa.

The lifting of the body from the mortuary will take place on February 6 to be the exposed at the parish Notre Dame de la Sagesse. Doctor in philosophy and letters, Mgr Maurice Plevoets was born in Genk in Belgium in 1926. He was ordered priest in 1950. Arrived in DRC in 1959, he was a successively secretary-general of the Lovanium University (current University of Kinshasa), secretary of the Standing committee of the studies of the ministry for the Higher education and university, president of the national service of pedagogy university, academic Secretary-general of catholic Faculties.

After his deserved, he was permanent Secretary of the Board of directors of the catholic University of Congo (UCC), temporary Priest of Notre Dame de la Sagesse between 1992 and 2013 and highly skilled professor of the UCC 2001.

This man of the sciences"Mont Tabor", was a chaplain of the Movement of the catholic professors and Initiator of the Mgr Vanneste (FOVA) Foundation.
