Three newly ambassadors accredited to the DRC presented their credentials to the head of State to President Félix Tshisekedi on Tuesday, in the presence of Marie Tumba Nzeza, Minister of Foreign Affairs.


These are MM. Zhu Jing, Mohammad Javad Shariati and Djouama Toufik who are Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors respectively from the People's Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria.

Zhu Jing: diplomatic since 1995


Chinese Ambassador Zhu Jing began his diplomatic career in 1995 as an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his country before serving as attaché, third secretary, deputy director within the African Affairs Department at the China foreign Affairs Ministry (2000 to 2007).

He was an adviser, deputy director general of the European Affairs Department at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2015 and 2019, before his appointment as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China in DRC.

Mohammad Javad Shariati, also ambassador in CAR


Mohammad Javad Shariati, a master in international law, the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Iran in DRC, was born on May 17, 1970 in Tehran. He is married and has two children, speaks Persian and French, English and Russian.

A career diplomat at his country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was notably director of the Cooperation and Religious, Cultural, Arts and Sports Division at his country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Between 1996 and 1997, he served as a political expert for the Union of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Caucasus.
Mohammad Javad Shariati also represents Iran in the Central African Republic.


Djouama Toufik: former official of the United Nations

Djouama Toufik, a new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria in the DRC and born on March 9, 1969, holds a law degree and a master's degree in international law and international relations. He graduated from the National School of Administration in Algiers.

He was recruited in 1995, as Secretary of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Algiers before exercising between 2012 and 2015, the functions of assistant director in charge of specialized agencies and operational activities of the United Nations system in Algeria, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Before his appointment as Ambassador of his country in the DRC, he was Minister Counselor, Deputy Permanent Representative between 2015 and 2019.
