Dissatisfied, military families made up of widows and orphans went to meet, on January 2, 2020, the President of the Senate, the Honorable Alexis ThambweMwamba, to inform them of their wishes.
Indeed, these widows and orphans did not benefit from the end of year feast’s ration while several public and private institutions submitted food to their staff. They considered themselves to be abandoned and discredited by the country's authorities.

As a father, Alexis Thambwe Mwamba promised to find a palliative solution. He said he will contact the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs to obtain clear explanations for the non-regularization of their food supplies.

Alexis Thambwe Mwamba reassured them to plead in their favor with members of the government. At the end of their meeting with the number one of the Upper House, the widows and orphans welcomed the gesture of the boss of the Senate for the gesture made by receiving us, this testifies his generosity, because we felt neglected, but after having exchanged with him we are reassured now, said one of the widows.

After this meeting with the widows and orphans of the military, the President of the Senate visited the installations of the administrative services of the Upper House of Parliament.

Alexis Thambwe Mwamba received several concerns from 9 departments and 8 sections of the design office presented by the secretary general of this institution. The Senate number one has promised to work with the office to find solutions to the various concerns of administrative staff.
