The Public-Private Alliance for Responsible Mineral Trade (PPA), a multi sectoral initiative between leaders of civil society, industry and the US government, aims to provide a win-win cooperation framework to enable US companies to 'buy, operate and use the DRC's minerals, Ms Elizabeth Orlando explained.
Received in audience with a delegation of his structure that she led to State minister in charge of Minister of International Cooperation, Regional Integration and Francophonie, Me Pépin Guillaume Manjolo, they exchanged on the economic opportunities that PPA offers to the Congolese government to promote responsible exploitation of minerals in the DRC.
The minister told us about transparency in cooperation so she could work together, she said, adding, "We also discussed of human rights and corruption issues."
The Public-Private Alliance for Responsible Mineral Trade supports projects in the Great Lakes area of Central Africa to improve diligence and governance systems required for ethical supply chains.
