Anxious to make the eradication of poverty one of his priorities during his five-year term, the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi launched Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in the tourist site, Lac Ma vallée, in the town of Mont -Ngafula in Kinshasa the Accelerated Presidential Program to Fight Poverty and Inequality (PPA-Lcpi), as reported by the communication cell of the Presidency of the Republic.

The launch coincides with the dates of 15, 16, and 17 October, respectively marking International Women's Day, World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

On this occasion, the Head of State will address on this tourist site a message to the nation in connection with this last day, which is the one dedicated to the elimination of poverty.

The objective of this program is to fight the multidimensional nature of poverty that affects nearly 63% of Congolese, mainly those living in rural and suburban areas.

A total of 145 territories and 40 communes in the country are involved in the accelerated presidential program to fight against poverty.


The Ppa-Lcpi relies on 3 axes among others, improving people's access to basic social services, developing profitable and sustainable local economic sectors and strengthening the managerial skills of the beneficiaries of the program.

It should be noted that this launch also corresponds with the annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which are an opportunity to bring together actors from diverse backgrounds, leaders of the public sector (Central Banks, Ministries of Finance and Development and Private Sector...
