Following the lifting of his immunities at the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly, Deputy Mike Mukebayi was arrested on Monday after a lengthy hearing at the Prosecutor General's Office at the Kinshasa / Gombe Court of Appeal.

The complainant, Daniel Mwananteba, a member of the political party Union for the Congolese Nation (UNC), accuses him of defamation. Several complaints about the same allegations would weigh on Mike Mukebayi.

The political platform Lamuka denounces a political issue against his member, by the speed with which it was treated. The elected representative of the Lingwala municipality has been suspended since June 3, for a period of 12 months, with retention of his emoluments and a formal prohibition to attend the headquarters of the Provincial Assembly of Kinshasa for his remarks against the president of this institution, Godé Mpoyi.
