Sunday, August 25, 2019, in the early afternoon, a boat, rented by the rapper Maître Gims and three of his friends, caught fire off Bonifacio, in the south of Corsica, Corsica Matin reports. The four passengers were able to return to the shore without damage thanks to the semi-rigid boat stowed with this vessel of about fifteen meters.

The Franco-Congolese singer has therefore come close to the drama. "Six people, including the rapper, were forced to abandon a luxury rental boat off the coast of Corsica after a fire", Purepeople revealed. Gims and his relatives and crew members were able to return to the shore, about 400 meters, thanks to a semi-rigid stowed to the star without any of them being injured.

An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire as well as possible responsibilities. According to the first elements collected, a motor damage would have caused the departure of fire. If the fire was quickly controlled, the risk of pollution remains significant: 3,000 liters of fuel were in the tanks at the time of the fire, the source added. A floating anti-pollution boom has been deployed to limit the damage.
