The President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, has been living since Friday, August 16, in Dar-Es-Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania, where he is taking part in 39th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of Southern African States (Sadc).

Under the theme "an enabling environment due to inclusive and sustainable industrial development, increased intraregional trade and job creation", the summit is being held from 17 to 18 August 2019.

Upon his return, the Head of State was welcomed by the Tanzanian Minister of Transport and Communication, Isack A Kamwelve in the presence of some government members including Frank Mwe Di Malila, Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Basil Olongo, and Chief of staff of Fardc, Célestin Mbala.

During his stay Felix Tshisekedi, will take advantage to hold bilateral meetings on the issues of the moment in the DRC, specifically on the situation of insecurity in the east of the country, the problem of Ebola as well as the question concerning the imminent publication of the government.

It should be noted that this summit was preceded by a meeting of Sadc senior officials as well as the ministerial meeting. The Sadc consists of South Africa, Angola, Botwana, Mauritius; Seychelles Islands, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, DRC, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swawiland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The current Sadc Troika is composed of Namibian President Hage G. Geingob, followed by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, outgoing President, and Dr. John Joseph of Tanzania, the current new President of Sadc.
