According to the statement, the first surveys show that the adult male has arrived in Goma since 13 July 2019 from a mining area in Ituri province, with no signs of illness; and developed the first signs on July 22, 2019. "The patient is currently at the Ebola Treatment Center in Goma for his care," one reveals.

The leader of Nord Kivu province and the technical secretariat of the multi sectoral committee reassure the population that the response teams are working to carry out all the public health actions around the case, and recommends her to fully collaborate with the teams on the ground

"We reassure neighboring countries that all steps are being taken to strengthen surveillance at points of entry and sanitary control and our ongoing collaboration," the statement said. The first case was detected on July 14 in the city of Goma. The victim died on the road while being transported to the Butembo treatment center.

The first delegation of the technical secretariat of the multi sectoral committee on the EVD response has been in Goma since the beginning of this week. Its mission is to set up new strategies to fight this epidemic.
