We expected it. The detection of an Ebola case in Goma, the capital of Nord Kivu, has sounded the alarm and warns the world that the Ebola epidemic in the eastern part of the DRC for almost a year with the figure of 1668 death tolls spread to other countries, especially the nearest countries such as Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

Indeed, the panel of WHO experts finally made the necessary decision to declare this epidemic a public health emergency of international concern. The WHO Chief executive, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, informed the entire planet on 17 July. This WHO decision has just plunged the country of Felix Tshisekedi in a heavy threat of international isolation at the time when the new Head of State tirelessly undertakes to warm the Congolese diplomacy that had faced difficulty.

This is the place to throw rotten tomatoes to all those who maintain insecurity in the east of the country thus undermining the plan for the response to Ebola hemorrhagic fever.

From now on, following this global alert, the 196 signatory countries of the international health regulation will have to reinforce their surveillance of the Ebola virus within their borders, but also in their airports and seaports with systematic controls of the passengers. This is the fifth time since 2005 that a global health emergency has been launched by WHO.
