Professor Freddy Matungulu, appointed by the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, as administrator of the African Development Bank (BAD), promises to defend the DRC’s interests to the board of directors of this continental financial institution, a document signed by the interested party which arrived Friday at the ACP revealed.

“As an administrators, I will have to defend within the Board of directors of the BAD, the DRC’s interests including those of five other countries of central Africa, in particular Burundi, Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, the Central Africa Republic and Chad”, Professor Freddy Matungulu specifies. He also expressed his gratitude to the Head of State, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, to have named him in ordor to assume the mandate entrusted to DRC.

According to Professor Freddy Matungulu, this act reaffirms the will of the President of the Republic to privilege the best interests of the Nation and to gather the Congolese beyond the cleavages and political clashes so harmful to the country.

"This new international commitment re-imposes reserve duties on me. I therefore expect to take a substantial distance from my militants political activities, including within Lamuka, to devote myself as a priority to the collective effort expected from me at the BAB, for the DRC and Africa’ interest", he said.

The three-year term of office of the African Development Bank (BAD) for the DRC, Burundi, Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic and Chad expired on June 30, 2019. This mandate was carried by Cameroon for the last three years.
