Two teams in the Ebola response have been attacked by a group of young bikers in Beni, Nord Kivu, following the death of a biker on the same day at the CTE, the ministry of Health let know in a statement received Tuesday at ACP.

According to the source, this is a vaccination team in the health area of Tamende and a psychosocial assistance team in the Madrandelle that were attacked, while they were both in full activity. From these attacks, there is a report of two injured members of the response who were transferred to Beni's general hospital and a burned vehicle.

It should be noted that these two health areas have reported several cases of Ebola in recent weeks. Among these cases, there is the twin brother of the deceased young man who is currently on treatment at CTE.

Ebola response coordinator in Beni, Dr Gaston Tshapenda said that an intermediary between the coordination and this community has already been delegated to meet the people of these two countries, especially the young people.

This meeting will seek to find a compromise to bring the situation back to calm. "Right now, it's hard to work. All the teams are waiting and working in slow motion, while there are alerts here and there, "he lamented, adding that on the security front, the situation is calm and the teams act with caution.
