The world celebrates 14th of June of each year, the World Day of Volunteer Blood Donor. In the DRC, the report is bitter because it is reported for three months a break of stock throughout the country.

This is an opportunity for Dr. Jeff Kabinda of the National Blood Transfusion Center to express the need for reagents to ensure a quality transfusion. He also expressed his fear of not properly ensuring blood safety.

He is asking the government to supply the National Blood Transfusion Center to improve blood bag coverage across the country and provide safe blood to hospitals to save lives.

Dr. Jeff Kabinda also pointed out that there is no more funding because it is the central government that buys the inputs. He also suggested that this year, they have not had a supply because of the administrative burden. He took the opportunity to make aware everyone involved in to have inputs.

The problem of CNTS and Provincial Centers of Blood Transfusion, constitute the central of distribution of all that is reactive in blood transfusion. When there is a lack of reagents, the hospitals will get the reagents elsewhere without control and it is dangerous because they are not quality reagents and no quality control, we can expect everything.
