Tony Elumelu made this statement after an interview with the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, at the Cité de l’Union Africaine in Kinshasa.

He also said the UBA is ready to make Congolese billionaires to meet the wishes of the Head of State and to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). "In the same way that Nigeria has produced billionaires, I would like to see the Congo have its own billionaires," said the chairman of the UBA board, citing the Head of State, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

The Nigerian businessman who took advantage of this meeting, to congratulate the Head of State for his brilliant election as head of the DRC, argued that his bank is operational in 20 African countries including the DRC.

While his foundation, "Tony Elumelu Foundation" takes care of thousand young entrepreneurs in 54 African countries, including 140 entrepreneurs from the DRC. "I would like to see the President of the Republic Felix Tshisekedi give his support because he has a direct impact on poverty, youth and lack of employment," he said, saying it is important to create not only taxes, but also create the environment that is needed to enable SME to flourish and produce Congolese billionaires.
